Yesterday’s column was about pest, specifically their health.
Today, thanks to popular demand (from my two schnauzers who are wrestling all over my office while I write this column), we feature another pet-oriented site.
It’s called Spay-USA. And no, their mission is not to spay everyone in the country (although there may be some merit to that idea). No, here’s what they’re all about:
Our mission is to end the suffering of innocent dogs and cats by reducing the number of unwanted births. Anyone who needs assistance finding affordable spay/neuter services can benefit by using the SPAY/USA referral service.
We have always had our animals neutered. The lone exception is my very well-mannered male schnauzer, Doogan (Doogie Schnauzer, get it? ;-). However, he is kept confined in the house, in the yard, or on a leash. The fact that he so well-mannered, male-dog-wise, is the reason why I’m planning on someday letting him pass his genes on.
But, I digress. The site makes it easy for you to find a low-cost vet to neuter your pet for you.
There are many advantages to spaying your pet. No worries about roaming strangers causing you to deal with a pregnant female, or no worries about your male sneaking off and possibly disappearing.
Plus, there are already WAY too many pets. Tragically, many are destroyed. Our cat we got from a shelter is the feline light of my life. And yes, she is spayed!
So listen to Bob Barker, spay your pets, and allow today’s FamilyFirst site to provide assistance!
